BCMZ Precision Engineering was established in 1967 by 4 ex-Colchester Lathe Company employees. In the early days, the business was primarily a metal turning company offering a machining service on manual and capstan lathes.
The company was sold in 1987 to the current owner and, since that date, the business has invested heavily in expanding their process and service offerings.
Investment into the latest technology of Multi-axis Turning (up to 8 axis) and Multi-axis Milling (up to full 5 axis) has allowed BCMZ to expand its customer base in to many industrial sectors and to secure several significant blue-chip clients.
With the latest CAM software and Production Control systems BCMZ can offer a fast turn-around service, with total control and traceability.
BCMZ pride themselves on the business relationships they build with all customers. Through good communications and close liaison, BCMZ have had the confidence to invest in supporting these relationships and forming long-term partnerships.
From its humble beginnings in a converted milk-float shed in the Co-op yard in Halstead, to its present 12,000 sq ft factory in Sudbury, the company has grown to become a first port of call for its growing customer base.
